Get Involved
We can work towards our vision of Keeping Kids Positive by getting involved in our local community. There are so many ways to impact kids positively, but I wanted to share some of my favorite organizations that I, personally, work with below. Please feel free to get involved with these organizations yourself or use them as inspiration to find other organizations that allow you to serve your community similarly!
Lunches of Love
Lunches of Love is an organization that provides children and families with lunches on school breaks and throughout the summer. I have been able to decorate lunch bags with positive quotes, pack the lunches, and deliver them to the families in my time working with Lunches of Love. It is so rewarding to see the smiles on the kids' faces when I hand them their lunch with a positive message on the bag!
Clothed by Faith
Clothed by Faith works to provide clothes to those in need. Whether it be for school, a job interview, or simply to boost someone's confidence, the week's worth of clothes that one receives has an immense impact. In working with this organization I have washed clothes, sorted them, and packed them for delivery. There are so many ways to ensure that those in need have the clothes they need to brighten their day.
Kids Meals
Kids Meals, similar to Lunches of Love, works to provide the less fortunate with the meals they need. I have worked in the kitchen making lunches, as well as packing them with Kids Meals. Envisioning the smiles on the kids' faces when they receive their meal as I pack the lunches reminds me why this organization is so important.
iCanBike
iCanBike is an organization that teaches kids with special needs how to ride a bike. It is a week-long camp with the goal of instilling confidence in the kids that if they can learn to ride a bike that they can do anything they set their mind to. As a volunteer, it was amazing to see the impact this organization had on the children and their families!
March of Dimes
From a young age, I have loved volunteering with March of Dimes. The organization works with premature infants and their mothers to ensure they have the care they need to survive and thrive. My mission is to Keep Kids Positive and providing hope for babies through March of Dimes allows me to impact these kids in a positive manner from the beginning.
